Serendipity
A couple of day ago, while reading The Online Photographer, I came across the story of Voja Mitrovic, “one of the greatest printers of black-and-white photographs in the history of photography”.
In the article, they mention Josef Koudelka, whose work I didn’t know and loved almost immediately.

Later on, while chatting with my girlfriend about life, the universe and everything, I remembered about Koudelka. Something about his images made me think she’d love them too.
A quick Google Images search got us to this image:

found on the NY Metropolitan web site.
Her eyes lit immediately…
I took a picture of that same print two years ago, when I was in New York, and loved it! I meant to further check on his work but totally forgot about it!
This happens to us a lot.
I guess we both chose the right person to have a daughter with…
